Burleson High School volleyball coach Jill Kimball got a chance to bolster the Lady Elks’ prospects for the future during the 2010 Lady Elks volleyball camp Monday-Thursday at BHS.

Kimball and her staff, which consisted of BHS assistant coach Amber Davis, Ryan Kimball and former Burleson standouts Christina Daniel, Sarah Gilbert, Jamie Lambert, Sarah Odom, Jordan Parks and Jessica Zabojnik, tutored more than 70 young players ranging from fifth-graders to incoming freshmen.

The younger players focused on learning proper mechanics for hitting, passing and serving, while the more experienced campers got an introduction to the Lady Elks’ offensive and defensive systems and responsibilities.

Burleson is scheduled to begin practice for the 2010 season Monday before opening the season with a home match against Stephenville at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10.
