Two political activists protested at the Burleson post office today at S.W. Johnson Avenue.

Wearing signs portraying Obama as Hitler, John Jambor and Craig Holtzclaw from Houston — both organizers with the LaRouche Political Action Committee — spoke to Burleson residents and passed out literature advocating the removal of President Barack Obama from office and a reorganization of the entire financial system.

"We're getting Democrats and Republicans who realize we're in a lot of trouble," Jambor said.

Holtzclaw said although they oppose President Obama's policies, they are not in favor of "Republican crooks" either.

On visiting Burleson, Holtzclaw said residents have been enthusiastic about the movement.

"We get a fantastic response from blue collar workers here," he said. "People here don't ignore us."

Holtzclaw said he once protested in Burleson 20 years ago for a similar cause.

"LaRouche Democrats" support the economic policies laid out by 89-year-old Lyndon LaRouche, an American political activist who campaigned as a presidential candidate from 1976 to 2004, once for his own U.S. Labor Party and seven times for the Democratic Party nomination.

LaRouche was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in 1988 for conspiracy to commit mail fraud and tax code violations. The LaRouche movement, as it's broadly know, is sometimes described as a fringe movement with extremist political ideals.

The LaRouche PAC seeks to cancel the financial bailout and nullify the National Defense Authorization Act, among other things.

The two LaRouche supporters will be visiting cities throughout North Texas for the next three weeks, Jambor said. Their tour follows a state of the union address by LaRouche last week.
