Alvarado -- passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, with his daughters by his side.
Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, in the Chapel of Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. Visitation was 2-4 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Helping Hands for Jesus or the Alzheimer s Society.
Jack was a native of Fort Worth and a graduate of Paschal High School. He met fellow student and neighbor Carolyn Girdwood and the two were married on May 7, 1955. She preceded him in death. Jack served in the U.S. Air Force right out of high school. He was a salesman in the oil tool industry for many years.
Jack then worked for BRECO before starting his own business, Western Tool and Manufacturing. He enjoyed wood working, repairing and riding Cushman Scooters, model trains and airplanes. Jack was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Alvarado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John William and Lottie Edna Maddux Gattis; wife, Carolyn; daugh-
ter, Lana Kay Campbell-Morgan; and brother-in-law, Charles Schotta.
Those left to cherish his memory are daughters, Carla Jo Peikoff and husband, Nick, of Alvarado, and Lori Ellen Skjong-Nilsen and husband, Stig, of Burleson; grandchildren, Abby and Casey Walraven, Chase Campbell, Brooke and Joshua Rich, Henri Skjong-Nilsen, Joshua William Reynolds, Jack Skjong-Nilsen, and Will Campbell; great-grandchildren, Noah, Evan, Cohen, and Penelope; sister, Sarita Schotta; and son-in-law, B.
