Three days left to see Plaza’s ‘Dear Ruth’
I’d forgotten how funny this play is, but I quickly remembered in mid flight the first time I fell out of my seat with laughter during this fast-paced comedy, the kind that Plaza Theatre Company does so well.
There are two casts, each with Plaza veterans (Luke Hunt, Katy Wood, Kevin Poole, David Goza, Madison Heaps) so it really doesn’t matter which one you see, although one main character played by Jesse Bowron remains the same.
Otherwise, both casts are sprinkled with experienced actors making their return to the stage after absences for various reasons, and newcomers who perform with seasoning under the direction of Taffy Geisel, who directed “Dear Ruth” when PTC first performed it in 2013.
It not just the lines that are hilarious. Watch the actors’ facial expressions, even those on the periphery, under Geisel’s excellent direction and the actor’s commitment to the scene.
