Burleson Works benefits many
According to Manpower Group, 46 percent of American companies are finding it hard to find skilled workers to fill the record number 6.7 million job openings.
Recognizing the need to bridge this gap, the Burleson Works Program continues a collaboration between regional companies, schools, and businesses that need a skilled workforce that started in 2018.
“The difficulty finding skilled employees is growing,” explains Alex Philips, economic development manager. “We need to have a program where we can bridge the gap between people in our region and the skills needed for specific jobs within companies.”
Philips says that launching Burleson Works, a sister program to the Burleson Opportunity Fund, was a natural solution for local companies and schools by taking advantage of partnerships in technical schools and economic development.
