Flags fly at Half-staff in Memory of President George H.W. Bush
Flags across the state and the country are flying at half-staff in honor of President George Herbert Walker Bush, who passed away at the age of 94 on Nov. 30.
Governor Greg Abbott signed a proclamation on Monday ordering the flags to be flown at half-staff until Monday, Dec. 31. He also encouraged individuals, businesses, municipalities, counties and other political subdivisions in Texas to do the same.
An official Day of Mourning was observed on Wednesday, Dec. 5, when state agencies, offices and departments remained closed for Texans to pay respect to Bush, the 41st President of the United States.
