Following short chase, BPD officers apprehend bank robbery suspect
Burleson Police took a suspect into custody Friday following the robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank location at 435 E. Renfro Street.
Burleson 911 dispatch operators received an alarm notification from the bank at 11:01 a.m. according to an email from Burleson Police Chief Billy Cordell.
Officers were dispatched and arrived at the location shortly thereafter.
The suspect passed a note demanding money and left with an undisclosed amount.
After getting a description of the suspect’s vehicle from bank personnel, officers were able to apprehend the suspect.
BPD Sgt. Brian O’Heren located the vehicle, which attempted to elude apprehension by fleeing in the vehicle.
After a short pursuit, the suspect stopped the vehicle. Sgt. O’Heren and Officer Jay Davis were able to take the suspect into custody.
No weapon was displayed during the robbery.
“The Wells Fargo staff did an outstanding job in quickly providing information on the suspect to dispatch and BPD officers did a superb job in locating and apprehending the suspect,” Cordell said.
