Man threatens juvenile with gun after fight
A man drew a firearm on a juvenile early Sunday morning during an altercation between friends, police say.
"It appears they were hanging around at a house, and they got into a fist fight over comments made about a girl," Burleson Police Sgt. Wes Routson said.
That led to the man displaying a firearm and threatening the juvenile, Routson said.
"Fortunately, they decided to go their separate ways," he said.
The altercation in the 600 block of NW Renfro Street led to police responding at 12:22 p.m. to a call of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. No one was arrested, because the victim and their guardians chose not to pursue charges.
"We have all the persons identified, but we have to have a complainant to go forward with charges because officers didn't witness this," Routson said. "There's not much we can do if the victim won't pursue charges and allow us to proceed."
The subjects involved are individuals Burleson police have "dealt with on a recurring basis," Routson said.
