'We can't get to Burleson soon enough'
An Irish-themed sports pub with a family twist could call Burleson home within a year.
"There's several locations within Burleson that we're looking at," said Jamie Cecil, director of franchise sales and development for Beef 'O' Brady's. "We haven't yet settled on that location."
Beef 'O' Brady's began in 1985 as a stand alone restaurant and pub in Brandon, Florida, and has expanded nationwide. One North Texas location is in operation in Midlothian by franchisee Brad Golden, who is interested in expanding to Burleson.
"Burleson has those traits that has allowed Beef 'O' Brady's to be successful in Midlothian," Cecil said. "It is a family-oriented community with good schools and affordable living."
All factors the Beef 'O' Brady's would use – demographics, population, growth – to determine if a location has merit is present in Burleson.
"Burleson is off the charts," Cecil said. "We can't get to Burleson soon enough. Sign us up."
The concept is "game time meets family time," Cecil said. "A lot of our restaurants will have a game room for the kids and full bar for the adults."
The menu includes options for children and what is called "The Lighter Side," offering salads and healthier dining options. The restaurant has a full complement of gluten-friendly items.
"If you want to enjoy game time, but you are looking for a healthier option, we have that," Cecil said. "A lot of sports grills you'll find only have fried food."
In a town where there's Elks and Spartans, the concept is to support both.
"We want to get involved," Cecil said. "What you may find is you pull up to our restaurant and we're having a band car wash for one of the schools. Our concept excels because we get involved."
Beef 'O' Brady's could be open within a year, Cecil said, with the next immediate step being the selection of a location.
