Animal control officer Teri Bridwell honors her late father by protecting the cats, dogs and small animals of Burleson
BURLESON – Teri Bridwell made her late father a promise. And she’s spent many, many years trying to keep it.
She swore to Gary Bridwell she would always take care of animals in need.
It was a vow that the 47-year-old Burleson animal control officer takes very seriously.
Those who know her say her dedication to her job shows from the impact her work has on the community.
For example, a friend recently posted a photo of a dog on her Facebook profile.
“He is thankful for you,” the friend wrote. “He represents all the creatures you help.”
As a longtime ally to the animals of the world and a staunch city employee, Teri Bridwell is the second person to be profiled in “Burleson Strong,” the Star’s ongoing series that focuses on the spirit of the people who drive the city forward.
Each “Burleson Strong” print story – such as this one – is accompanied by an extended film version of the same interview.
