City's Marketing and Communications Department earns five honors
The city of Burleson’s Marketing and Communications Department flexed its muscles Thursday night as they won five awards at the Texas Association of Municipal Information Officers annual conference in Denton.
Only the city of Arlington received more awards at the conference.
According to a post on the city’s Facebook page “the department is in charge of a variety of marketing throughout the city, including running the page Facebook page. We love being able to communicate with all of you and hope we bring value to your experience with the City of Burleson.”
The department garnered the following awards.
Award of Honor: Best Use of Humor Video with Fire Department’s “A smoke detector for daily use” PSA
Award of Honor: Public Service Announcement (Educational) Video with Police Department’s “Move Over Shuffle”
Award of Excellence: Best Use of Social Media (unplanned) with the Police Department’s “Rumor Control Facebook post”
Award of Honor: Best Electronic Report with the City’s State of the City video TAMI Award: Most Creative with Least Dollars with the Fire Department’s ISR Drowning Prevention video
Award of Honor: Internal Communications with HR’s First Amendment Video
“Our department takes pride in keeping our residents and businesses informed and we work very hard to create engaging, funny and helpful information for Burleson,” said DeAnna Phillips, Marketing and Communications Director. “We are honored to be recognized at the state level for the content that we make for Burleson.”
