Crowley teens found dead
Authorities are investigating a double homicide believed to have taken place Saturday in the Crescent Springs Subdivision in the 700 block of Hutchins Drive.
The two victims have been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as Matthew Lemus, 19, and Edgar Ramirez, 17, both of Crowley.
According to the medical examiner, Lemus died as a result of shotgun wounds to the chest, and Ramirez died from shotgun wounds to the head and left arm.
The Crowley Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is trying to gather information about the shooting in coordination with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the department’s Crime Scene Unit, according to a news release issued by the Crowley department.
Crowley authorities were dispatched to the scene of the crime about 11:45 a.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival, they discovered the two deceased men in the road.
The sheriff’s office investigators provided assistance with crime scene and forensic crime scene mapping. The medical examiner’s Office took possession of the bodies.
Crowley police officials ask members of the public to keep social media speculation regarding the crimes to a minimum – at least until more information is available regarding what happened.
“We are asking that anyone with information come forward and speak with detectives,” the news release read.
