Former Johnson County man arrested for 2010 aggravated rape of 11-year-old girl
Carl Andrew McCready, 48, was arrested this week in connection with the alleged 2010 aggravated sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Johnson County. McCready has been booked into the Bossier Parish Jail in Benton, Louisiana.
In an issued statement, Johnson County Sheriff Adam King said the alleged victim, now an adult, initially reported the Sept. 22, 2010 incident after it took place. It is unclear why the investigation was never completed, the sheriff said.
However, the investigation became reinvigorated in July, when a Johnson County Sheriff’s Captain began investigating the case and spoke to the victim. The victim apparently didn’t realize the man had never been convicted and told authorities she wished to press charges against him.
Further investigation led the captain to believe McCready, once a Cleburne resident, was living in Bossier City, Louisiana.
After several weeks of investigation, the captain compiled the facts of the case into an arrest warrant affidavit and presented it to the 18th District Court in Johnson County on Sept. 21, Sheriff King said in the statement.
A warrant for aggravated sexual assault was issued for McCready with a $100,000 recommended bond, reports show.
Although he is in custody in Louisiana, deputies were unable to immediately transport McCready back to Johnson County from the Bossier Parish Jail because he has to be officially extradited.
