Holder named Centennial’s new principal

Ikie Holder was announced Monday as the new Principal at Centennial High School according to a press release from the Burleson ISD.

“We welcome Principal Holder to Burleson ISD,” said Dr. Bret Jimerson, Burleson ISD Superintendent. “Combining his impressive background as a former high school teacher, counselor, and coach, with his wealth of knowledge in career and technical education, we look forward to seeing his success continue at Centennial High School.”

Holder has 17 years of experience in education, serving most recently as Academic Principal at a career and technology high school in the Mansfield school district. He holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of North Texas, a master’s degree in school counseling from Lamar University, and is currently earning a doctorate in educational leadership from Tarleton State University.

Holder’s education career has focused on a variety of experiences which he deemed necessary to preparing him for his role as a high principal. Those experiences include serving as a high school administrator for three years, working directly with students as a high school counselor for three years, understanding and developing a high school master schedule, and leading students as a coach and teacher for more than ten years. Holder also served in the United States Army as an Ammunition Specialist.

“Centennial High School is well-known for the choices and opportunities it offers its students,” Holder said. “I am excited to lead Centennial High School and continue the legacy of success that comes with being a Spartan.”

Parents, students, and staff will be invited to celebratory meet-and-greet events in the coming weeks.
