Locals receive diplomas and recognition
Burleson area residents recently earned college diplomas and academic recognitions. They are:
• Lucero Sosa graduated from Hofstra University in May, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Legal Studies in Business.
Hofstra, located in Hempstead, New York, is a nationally ranked and recognized private university that is the only school to ever host three consecutive presidential debates (2008, 2012 and 2016). The campus is a leafy oasis just a quick train ride away from New York City. Enrollment is more than 11,000 students.
• Michelle McDaniel, a University of Dallas student from Burleson, completed the spring 2018 semester studying abroad on the university’s 12-acre Eugene Constantin Campus just outside Rome, Italy.
Since 1970, University of Dallas students have been given the opportunity to spend a semester abroad studying in Rome, traveling and experiencing the art, architecture, literature, philosophy and deeds that form the basis of Western civilization.
In 1994, the university formally dedicated its Eugene Constantin Campus in the locality of Due Santi outside Rome, Italy. In addition to providing a study-abroad opportunity for undergraduate students during the school year, the campus also hosts special summer programs for both high school students and adults.
• Ronald Jeffery Hood, Michael Sheldon Rawl, and Dhruv Prem Suhalka were among the more than 400 graduates who received degrees from Baylor University during summer commencement exercises Aug. 11 in the Ferrell Center on the Baylor campus.
Hood earned a Master of Business Admin., Business Administration degree. Rawl received a Doctor of Philosophy, English, and Suhalka received a BS in Education, Integrated Studies.
