National Champions

The students at the Academy at Nola Dunn like to read.

Truth is they like to read a lot.

Nola Dunn students outread more than 37,000 students to win the national title in the Great Reading Games, a national reading competition hosted by Learning Ally.

Nola Dunn topped a field of 1,600 schools from around the nation to claim the title. The students read 212,091 pages and five of them placed in the national Top 10.

“While earning the title of national champion is a tremendous achievement for our students,” said. BISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Jimerson said.“I am more proud of students’ hard work and commitment to reading.”
