Kailey Tesdahl "is our superhero," Burleson Rocks officials said.

Saturday's First Annual Sister Cities Rock Swap efforts hosted by Burleson Rocks raised over $1,600 for the family of Kailey Michelle Tesdahl – the senior Centennial Sparkler who was severely injured and hospitalized June 5, while en route to her high school graduation ceremony.

The 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday event at Burleson City Hall was quite popular, according to reports.

Rock swaps abounded at the event.

The winner of the Mayoral Rock Swap was Alvarado Mayor E. Dewayne Richters with a superhero-themed rock, according to reports.

"The winner of the rock has donated it to Kailey to remind her that she is our superhero and to keep up the good work," official Terry Carlile confirmed in a Facebook email.

In a FB post, Kailey's mother Stephanie Schober-Tesdahl conveyed her gratitude to the volunteers for their time and effort.

"Thank y'all so much," she said. "We do appreciate this."
