Tending the Josua Trees
JOSHUA – Joe Juarez is looking for a few good men – men who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
Families of late veterans are eligible to receive complimentary services from Juarez and his company, Stars & Stripes Tree Service of Joshua, the owner said.
The program was created in honor of Memorial Day, Juarez said.
"Our 'Spring into Action' campaign will recognized a Gold Star family and the sacrifice their loved one made while serving our country,” Juarez said. "The recipient will receive free tree service by our company. We would like to enlist the help of the general public in nominating the recipient of this free tree service. The nominees must be a spouse or child of a service member who has paid the ultimate sacrifice while in service to the United States of America. Preference will be given to those whom exhibit patriotism and service to community and country. The financial needs of these families will also be taken into consideration."
The United States Marine Corps veteran – who will be 37 this year and was enlisted for four years – said he is looking for people who have a story about a loved one they wish to have preserved.
Any family member with a Gold Star nomination and story about a deceased veteran can message it to Juarez’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/starsandstripestree/
Juarez, who proudly refers to his company as “American Owned And Operated,” also is known to provide free tree work to various churches and centers friendly to veterans.
The company works throughout the greater Fort Worth area. Juarez says customers are known to quickly become fans.
Christie Fuentes, for example, is a self-proclaimed “customer for life.”
“They were very honest and helped guide us through every step,” she wrote about the service on Facebook. “Not only did they do the job even better than we expected, but they made sure to clean up all the areas they worked in before they left.”
Likewise with customer Erin McFatridge. She needed help after running across some tree branches interfering with the power lines by her home.
“We had planned to have the trees completely removed, but due to the professionals at Stars & Stripes Tree Services ,they trimmed the branches to look so nice and got them off the power line while leaving the trees intact,” McFatridge wrote on Facebook.
