Duarte chasing after pro auto racing career

“I’ve loved racing since that first trip to the track. Later my parents bought me a cart and the first race I was in I won, and I’ve never looked back from there.” 2013 Burleson graduate C.J. Duarte

When C.J. Duarte  was four his mother took him to a local race track to watch his uncle race and from that moment on Duarte has been enthralled by auto racing.

“If it has an engine in it I am really into it,” said the 2017 Burleson graduate. “I’ve loved racing since that first trip to the track. Later my parents bought me a cart and the first race I was in I won, and I’ve never looked back from there.”

Duarte, who is on his way to an associate’s degree at Tarrant County College, has recently taken time away from racing to concentrate on his studies.

After obtaining his associate’s degree, his next step will be completing a degree in mechanical engineering at The University of Texas-Arlington.

Duarte has been approved by NASCAR to race, but he said it’s hard to find sponsors and that keeps you off the track a lot.

The chance to race in NASCAR might come from Mike Affarano Motor Sports.

Affarano saw Duarte race and saw some talent and potential in him.

Duarte said Affarano has talked about giving him a free ride in one in a race coming up and hopefully that will lead to an important sponsor.

For now, Duarte will keep studying and race at Mesquite’s Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

Duarte’s main racing sponsors are Pam and John Duarte, C.A.R Transport, Podium Finish Photography, DGS Motorsports, Allard Racing Engines, and SRD Composites. Duarte Motorsports is seeking other marketing opportunities for not only its  sprint car team but NASCAR team as well.
