Celine Bernadette (Bouthiller) Leblond, 70, a native of Chicopee, Mass., and 25 year resident of North Padre Island, was called to her heavenly home on July 23, 2018. She passed into Eternal Life at her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. Her Celebration of Life service was Aug. 1, 2018, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Born in Springfield, Mass., on Oct. 28, 1947, Celine was the eldest daughter of the late Ernest Bouthiller and Francoise (Rheaume Chabot) Bouthiller. She was raised in Chicopee with her two sisters, Aline and Denise, where she graduated from Precious Blood Catholic High School. Celne later furthered her education as she became a Registered Nurse, graduating from the Providence Hospital School of Nursing. She married Roger Leblond, of Aldenville, Mass., in May of 1970, and finally settled in Chicopee Falls, Mass. There, their young family grew to a total of five children before they moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in January 1981. Shortly after their arrival in Texas, the family moved to Burleson, where Celine was active in both school district and church support activities- at St Ann’s Catholic Church- for all five of her children. Along with raising her children, Celine was a Resident Life Coordinator in the TCU Athletic Dorm (Moncrief Hall) for five years, served as the Director of Nursing at Silverhaven Nursing Home in the city of Burleson, and after moving to south Texas, she served as an administrator for the State of Texas Nursing Certification exam. After the graduation of their youngest child from Burleson High School, Celine and Roger moved to Corpus Christi, Texas, and settled on the water fulfilling a lifelong dream. Of most importance to Celine, regardless the location or occupation, was her family of five children, Lisa, Scott, Andrea, Steven, and Nicole; and her real treasures, fifteen grandchildren, (three with each child). Additionally, over the last twenty years, Celine used both her nursing acumen and familial compassion to see to the final care of her entire family, as she was predeceased by her father, Ernest Bouthiller, who was called home on Dec. 19, 2002, and mother, Francoise Bouthiller, recently called home on May, 29, 2017; her two sisters, Aline Masek, who was called home on May 6, 1995, and Denise Bouthiller, who was called home on Sept. 15, 2012. She leaves her loving husband of 48 years, Roger Leblond, of Corpus Christi, Texas; her brothers-in-law, Neil Masek, Gerry Leblond, Henry Leblond; and sister-in-law, Diane Dame; her five cherished children; her 15 treasured grandchildren; and a countless number of students, athletes, and friends, of the family that made amazing memories through the years. Additionally, she leaves a lasting legacy of life-long friends across the country, including Suzanne Jones and Kathy Cossaboom, of Massachusetts, along with her ‘favorite Texan’- Nora Davis.
