CLAUDE DALE ALMAND
Claude Dale Almand, 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, at 5:42 p.m. after a brief stay at Community Hospice House in Burleson, Texas.
He was born April 24, 1933. in Haskell, Texas, to James Monroe Almand and Mary Thelma Bartley-Almand. Claude was a resident of Haskell and Midland before moving to Burleson, in 1968. He resided there for the last 50 years. Claude earned the ranking of Sargent in the United States Marine Corp and served from 1953-1956. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Claude was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union #20 where he received his 60 year award in October of 2016. He was preceded in death by parents, James Monroe Almand and Mary Thelma Bartley-Almand; son, Johnny Dale Almand; brothers, James Jr. Almand, John Henry Almand, Jacob Earl Almand, Jerry Lou Almand and Alvie Jay Almand; and sisters; Mary Dorothy Driver and Pauline Jones. Survivors include his sons, Roy Almand, of Grapeland, Sammy Almand and wife, Karen, of Slocum; daughters; Gayle Musquiz and husband, Oscar, of Richardson and Sheila Petty and husband, Jeff, of Burleson; brothers, Arnold Almand, of Hurst, and Floyd Self, of Garland. sisters, Anita Johnson, of San Antonio, Gladys Sylvester, of California, and Mary Mutti, of Sugarland; four grandchildren, Christi Hamby, Liza Musquiz, Samantha Pyle and Christopher Musquiz; four great-grandchildren, Colton, Kaitlyn, Jayden and Chase; and two great-great-grandchildren; Jayde and Cameron.
