David Glen Gordon, 52, of Sanger, went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2016, at his home.

The memorial service was 2:30 p.m. on May 9, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, of Denton, 201 S. Locust Street, Denton, TX 76201, in the Cole Chapel.

David was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on Feb. 19, 1964, to Alvin and Jerrye Gordon. He graduated from Joshua High in 1982. His church family was First United Methodist, of Denton; he loved to worship. David was an active member of the Shalom Today AA Group, in Denton, which he considered part of his family. He was a business owner, and he loved to fish and watch the Dallas Cowboys.

Survivors include his mother and father; sisters, Teri Folkens and husband, Eric, of Bradington, Florida, and Cheri Smith and husband, Ja, of Sanger, Texas; brother, Paul Gordon and wife, Kelly, of Sanger; nieces, Kate Folkens and Alyson Folken; nephews, Randy Smith, Michael Smith and Casey Gordon; great-nephew, Lennon Smith; and great-niece, Emma Smith.
