David Guttery, 84, of Burleson, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018.
The service celebrating his life is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home, in Burleson.

David was an avid golfer and marshaled at Hidden Creek Golf Course in Burleson for years. He loved the game and the many friendships developed through playing golf. David enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, going to horse races and yearly trips to Las Vegas with his son and friends. He also enjoyed his morning get-togethers at the Hickory Stick, in Everman, talking to his buddies.
An easy-going man, David got along with everyone. He cherished his wife and family, and was always there with a helping hand when called upon. David was a terrific grandfather, lovingly known as "Pop". He loved animals and would always try to feed a stray, giving it shelter when in need.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Hester Guttery; brother, Eddie Guttery; sister, Dorothy Barnes and nephew, Bruce Kelley.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Liz Guttery; daughters, Sherry Taylor and husband, Steve, of Flower Mound, and Vickie Bond and husband, Jeff, of Sherman; son, David Guttery and wife, Darlene, of Burleson; grandchildren, Amanda Mitchell and husband, Matthew, of Fort Collins, Colorado, Kassie Bond and husband, Eric, of Denison, Jeffrey Bond and wife, Traci, of Howe, Matthew Luster and wife, Brandy, of Little Elm, and Danielle Guttery, of Burleson; great-grandchildren, Hannah Bond, Addison Bond, Kaden Luster, Rylee Carpenter, Zoey Guttery-Green, Anja Luster and Talan Luster.
