Fredrick William Henkel-man Jr., 83, of Burleson, passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017.

Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2017, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, in Joshua. Visitation is 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, at the funeral home.

Fred was born July 28, 1934, in Clifton, to Fredrick William Sr. and Elizabeth (Braune) Henkelman. He was a loving father and grandfather.

An avid sports enthusiast, Fred knew all the local players and their stats. He was a longtime girls’ softball coach, as well as, a member of the Burleson Sports Hall of Fame.

Fred proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He held the title of Master Mason at Burleson Lodge #649.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Morelock Henkelman; and his parents.

Survivors include his daughter, Helen Williams and husband, Blaine, of Burleson; grandchildren, Abbigail and Paxton Williams; cousins, Garland Brown and wife, Linda, Ronnie Henkelman and wife, Sharon, and Ima Jean Roberts and husband, Doyle; and many other loving extended family members and friends.
