Rush Gorman (R.G.) Parkinson
R.G. was a family centered man, and in his last moments, he was surrounded by his beloved family. A celebration of life was held February 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Alsbury Baptist Church in Burleson, Texas.
R.G was born December 7th, 1937, to Archie Mack and Ida Lee Parkinson in Granbury, Texas. R.G. graduated Granbury High School in 1956 where his best memories came from playing basketball and football. R.G. had many careers in his life, including preacher for the Church of Christ in these Texas cities: Cresson, Comanche, Deer Park, Fort Worth, and Burleson.
He entered the business world in the 70’s and owned T-Shirt Spectrum, Video Arcades, 1898 Restaurant, car washes and shopping centers. R.G. found his niche in Real Estate with Red Carpet Realtors, then created his own company with a business partner, Preferred Properties Realtors.
He is survived by his siblings; Billie Parkinson Moran, Charles Parkinson, and Ronnie Parkinson; his wife of 32 years, Phyllis Parkinson, of Burleson, Texas; his 5 children, Chris (Cindy) Parkinson, Derek (Sara) Parkinson, Kai (Leah) Parkinson, Kalen (Ed) Hess, and Victoria Parkinson. His grandchildren, April, Brooke, Josh, Mahlia, Rani, Jakob Kolin, Derian, Keenan; and seven great grandchildren.
