Scottie Newt Brumley, 67, of Burleson, arrived in Heaven on July 21, 2018. A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date.

Scottie was born October 7, 1950, in Highland, California, but made Texas his home. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam. “Mr. Scott” retired from BISD after serving as a custodian at Norwood Elementary and Burleson High for many years. In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, Dallas Cowboys football, and spending quality time with his grand girls. He used his talent for singing and playing guitar to make people smile. He never met a stranger, leaving a positive impact on all who knew him. He loved Jesus, his country, his community, his family and friends. He was known for his love and kindness.

He has temporarily left behind, his son, Chasten Brumley and wife, Emily, of Paradise; granddaughters, Dixie and Audrey Brumley; brothers, Charles and Robert Brumley, of Phoenix, Arizona; close friends, Debbie and Samantha Saleh, of Crowley; and numerous extended family members and friends.
