OPINION: Are surviving members of the famed Von Eric wrestling family about to enter the ring?
(Editor’s Note: This column was submitted to the Burleson Star in the form of a letter to the editor.)
Pro wrestling is coming back to Burleson!
This all started because I am a huge pro wrestling fan – and have been all my life. I recently started working for a local Verizon store – Wireless Zone on Wilshire – that is just over a year old.
In an effort to build a customer base, I decided to reach out to my wrestling friends to see if they would be interested in doing a show.
The North American Wrestling Allegiance was founded by a local legend, "Killer" Tim Brooks. As of 2014, it has been owned and operated by Jon McNutt, a student of Brooks’.
They have a show on the second Saturday of each month, and on April 8, will host a spectacular event that will feature Von Erich family third generation stars, Ross and Marshall, sons of Kevin. These two have been wrestling all over the world!
Not only are we hosting a huge show, but we are also running this event as a fundraiser for the Burleson High School football team. A portion of the ticket sales are going to it.
A sponsorship magazine is being printed. We plan on having at least 10,000 copies made to spread around town. Sponsorship packages are still available, and a portion of those proceeds go to the football team as well.
Tickets are available at nawadallas.com. If you have any questions, feel free to call me directly at 970-471-6434.
We are really excited to bring pro wrestling back to Burleson!
