Burleson's Farnell finishes third at Granbury Tournament
One stroke separated Burleson and Centennial at Granbury’s Briggs Berry Memorial Tournament.
The Elks shot a combined 348 to finish sixth at the one-day event at Pecan Plantation Country Club. Centennial shot a 349 to placed seventh.
Hebron Blue took first place after defeating Granbury Purple in match play on the second day.
Christian Keto, playing for Granbury’s Gold team, was the top individual, shooting a 70. Granbury’s Purple team had the next finisher in Jake Holbrook (74).
Burleson’s Pierson Farnell tied third place, shooting a 75. Spencer David finished 24th after carding an 86. Chris Choi shot a 90 to place 37th. Cole Smith placed 50th (97) and Chase Scott was 59th (107).
Centennial was paced by Corbin Franco who shot a one-day total of 85 to place 22nd. Vic Torres finished 26th with an 87. Mariah Kunz fired an 88 to place 30th. Lester McCarty finished 35th with an 89 and Tyler Everts shot a 91 to place 38th.
Spartans place 48th
In its first tournament of the season, Centennial boys golf team shot a 1,004 to finish 48th at the Bart Granger Memorial.
Plano West won the title after shooting an 849. Houston Memorial placed second with an 857 and San Antonio Johnson was third (860 points).
San Antonio Johnson’s Garrett Martin shot a 197 to take the individual title. Plano West’s Parker Coody was second (200) and Plano West’s Pierceson Coody place third (202).
Corbin Franco was Centennial’s top player shooting a three-day 236 to place 140. Tyler Everts carded a 256 to place 215th. Vic Torres finished 225th after shooting a 259. Lester McCarthy was 230th (261) and Zayne Reeves was 234th (262).
