Lady Spartans stay in first

The goals were spread out Friday night in Centennial’s 5-0 District 5-5A girls’ soccer victory over Arlington
The win kept the Lady Spartans (7-0-0, 21 points) perfect in district play and for the season. Centennial scored three times in the first half and two goals in the second half.

Elks hammer Pirates, 5-0
In past years playing at Granbury has been a tough for Burleosn’s boys’ soccer team.
That wasn’t the case Friday night as the Elks hammered the Pirates, 5-0, behind two goals from Luke Peterson and a pair of assists by Freddy Hernandez.

Spartans down Cougars

Thanks to a 1-0 result Friday night over Arlington Seguin, Centennial’s boys’ soccer team finished the first-half of District 5-5A in fourth place.
The Spartans (3-2-2, 12 points) got what would be the game-winning goal in the first half when Bidauri Trujillo fed the ball to Ryan Lujan who rifled a shot into the net.
Lady Elks fall in shootout

After playing to a 0-0 draw in regulation, Burleson’s girls’ soccer team came up short at Granbury falling 4-3 in a penalty kick shootout in District 5-5A play.
