Burleson routs Fort Worth Paschal, 45-0
Not much went wrong for the Burleson Friday night as the Elks shut out Fort Worth Paschal, 45-0, in their home opener at Burleson ISD Stadium..
The Elks dominated on both sides of the ball to get off to 2-0 start this season.
Burleson picked up where it left off last week by finding the end zone often. Junior quarterback Jacob Amador threw for three touchdowns and ran in another. Amador had no issues throwing the ball completing 18 of 26 passes for 199 yards.
Early in the game, Caleb Lewis rushed for his first of two touchdowns on the night to give the Elks a 7-0 lead in the first quarter. Amador then found Jaylen Johnson on a 10-yard touchdown pass on the next drive to extend the lead 14-0.
Aden Anderson built off of his performance last week and caught another touchdown this time for 21 yards that put the Elks up 28-0. Anderson would finish the night with 73 yards on 6 catches.
Amador connected with his tight end Brock Williams late in the third for a 7-yard touchdown pass that would all but end things on the night. The final scoring drive on the night came on a 35-yard field goal from Edgar Lopez which put the Elks up 45-0.
The Burleson defense dominated the line of scrimmage throughout the game, and only allowed 22 rushing yards on the night. The only first down allowed by the Elks came on a fake punt late in the third quarter on a 4th and 14. The Elk defense forced a fumble early in the third quarter and was recovered by Jaterrius Pleasant.
To top off their defensive performance Jared Johnson picked off Paschal QB Cooper Bates late in the fourth quarter.
The Elks host Weatherford next Friday night at Burleson ISD stadium.
