Elks collect four victories at Elk Classic

Burleson’s baseball team proved poor hosts over the weekend as the Elks won all four of their games at Elk Classic.

The Elks might have won a fifth game over Abilene but the game was called in the second inning because of weather with Burleson leading 6-3.

“Weekend went well for the Elks posting an undefeated record against some quality teams,” Burleson coach Daniel Bruce said. “Pitching did exactly what it was supposed to do and that is to just keep us competitive in every game no matter who is on the mound for us. Offensively I have been definitely pleased with our quality at bats and that has resulted in some high output of runs in certain games. No matter the lineup, 1-9 in the order have done a good job of competing.”

The Elks (10-1) open play today at the Fort Worth Western Hills Tower Classic. Burleson opens District 5-5A play Tuesday hosting Mansfield Legacy.
