Elks fall at Crowley in 9-5A finale
Burleson’s boys basketball team closed out its season with a 65-52 loss at Crowley in both squads District 9-5A finale.
The Elks (19-15, 5-9) lost their final three games after getting into position to threaten for a playoff spot.
Friday night, Burleson lost its senior night game to 9-5A champion Arlington Seguin, 52-42.
Before the game, the Elks’ senior class of Isaiah Nelson, Justin McMaster and Isaiah Baldwin were honored.
“We didn’t play bad either night,” Burleson coach Alan DuBose said. “We just didn’t shoot well against Seguin and we just don’t match up well against Crowley because their speed negates our speed.”
In the loss to Crowley, Jaylen Johnson finished with a team-high 17 points and Baldwin scored 13 points.
Johnson scored 14 points against Seguin and Josiah Sneed tallied 10 points.
