Elks senior class honored

Looking back at this year’s senior class, Burleson boys basketball coach Alan DuBose said the thing he will miss the most of his three seniors is their height as group and their ability to dominate on the boards at times.

The Elks senior class of Isaiah Nelson, Justin McMaster and Isaiah Baldwin were honored before Burleson’s game Feb. 10 with Arlington Seguin. Burleson didn’t notch the win that night and couldn’t get to the playoffs, but DuBose said he would look back fondly on this senior class.

DuBose said he would remember Nelson, a 6-foor-4 forward, for his rebounding presence and offensively ability when he hit the floor.

“His size and athletic ability caused match up problems for teams,” DuBose said.

McMaster, a 6-2 forward, was also a key rebounder for the Elks, according to DuBose.

Baldwin was a player that DuBose said he wished he had for more than just one season. The 6-4 post only played his senior year because of injuries and surgery.
