Lady Elks basketball seniors recognized

Burleson girls basketball coach Curtis Enis said seniors Emily Holmes and Sasha Schoenborn played well in their final home game Feb. 9 against Centennial.

The senior duo was honored for their dedication to the program before the game.

"Emily is a good team player," Enis said. "She's a good ball-handler. Her strengths are her vision and passing. She's a streaky three-point shooter.  She has a good heart. She sees enjoyment in the success of others. That's something you don't see from people a lot these days. I'll miss her. She's a very genuine person."

Enis said Schoenborn was a hard-worker who loves the game of basketball.

"She eats, breathes and sleeps basketball," Enis said. "All she wants to do is play basketball until she can't play anymore and then I have a feeling she will probably go into coaching. She is very close with her father and he loves basketball. I can just imagine their conversations at home are just 24-7 basketball."
