Lady Elks fall to Legacy

MANSFIELD - Strange things happened in the late innings Tuesday night in Burleson’s 6-5 District 5-5A loss at Mansfield Legacy.

The Lady Elks, who had played solid defense in the first three innings, let things get away from them in the fourth inning.

“Untimely things happened with two out and that was kind of unfortunate,” Burleson coach Summer Owen said. “We had a couple of big strikeouts when we had runners in scoring position. We can only control what we can control. One call doesn’t lose a ballgame.”

The loss dropped the Lady Elks (13-7, 5-3) into fourth place in district play. Burleson hosts Mansfield Timberview Friday and hosts Arlington Seguin Tuesday.
