Burleson Youth Track Club excels at regionals
The Burleson Youth Track Club had a strong showing at the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation’s Region 4 meet July 22-24 at Tommy Briggs Stadium in the The Colony.
The team qualified 10 individuals in 21 individual events spread across eight age groups. The state qualifiers competed over the weekend in McAllen at the state championships.
Leading the way with a gold medal in the 16U boys high jump was Calen Coots. He also finished fourth in the triple jump and fifth in the long jump. In the girls 14U class,
In the girls 10U division, Ally Pipkin collected a silver medal in the long jump and the 100 and placed fourth in the high jump. Jazlyn Santos brought home a silver medal in the 300-meter hurdles, bronze medal in the 100 hurdles and finished fifth in the long jump.
In the 10U boys division, Cole Confessore won a silver in the long jump. Kenyon Lewis was seventh in the long jump and Joaquin Lynch was seventh in the 800.
In the 8U girls class, Vivianne Rose won a bronze medal in the 50 and placed sixth in the 100. Kendall Prieskorn was sixth in the long jump. Ashlyn Clark won a bronze medal in the 12U girl’s 80 and was fourth in the long jump. Also in the 12U girls’s division, Kamdyn Graves was fifth 1600 and sixth in the 800 and 80 hurdles.
Paul Worlow placed sixth in the long jump in the 8U boys competition.
