Centennial volleyball ready for district

Centennial volleyball coach Julie Williams is excited about getting District 5-5A play started.

The Lady Spartans are slated to open district play at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Mansfield Legacy.

Centenial hosts Burleson Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

A key player for Centennial in district play could be outside hitter Hannah Walker. The senior has been one of the Lady Spartans top contributors all season.

“We have gotten some really good play from Hannah,” Williams said. “She has started playing all the way around for us. She has a good jump serve and is definitely a factor for us.”

While Walker has been solid all season, various players have stepped up each night to help the team, Williams said.

Don’t be surprised to see Centennial go to a more consistent rotation during district matches.

In non-district play, Williams has toyed with different lineups to see how each performs.

“When we find the right combination that is producing wins, then that’s what we will probably stay with,” Williams said.

The Lady Spartans (6-15) closed out non-district play Friday night with a 25-6, 25-19, 25-16 loss at Midlothian Heritage.
