Green, Lady Spartans blank Molina
ARLINGTON — After struggling in her first playoff start, Centennial sophomore Presley Green found her groove Thursday night against the Dallas Molina.
Green scattered four hits in a five-inning 21-0 run-rule victory over the Lady Jaguars in a Class 5A Region II area-round one-game playoff at the Arlington ISD Softball Complex.
Centennial softball coach Shannon Sullvan went with Green instead of Serena Bersuch in the circle because she wanted to get the sophomore some post-season experience. She responded with five strikeouts and two walks.
“We needed to get her some time in the circle and make a comeback after that outing against Waxahachie,” Sullivan said. “She did a good job tonight hitting her spots.”
