Lady Spartans down Seguin

So far going on the road has been good for Centennial’s volleyball team.

The Lady Spartans registered their second District 5-5A win over the season Tuesday night defeating Arlington Seguin, 25-15, 25-23, 25-12, on the road.

Centennial (9-19, 2-4) also picked a district road win at Everman last Tuesday.

“The girls played great,” Centennial coach Julie Williams said. “We did a good job of serve receive which allowed us to run our offense. I am very proud of the girls and how they played.”

Williams praised the play of Zassmine Birdwell and Nadia Romancelly against the Lady Cougars.

“Zassmine had a great offensive game and Nadia set very well for us,” Williams said.

The Lady Spartans lost to Mansfield Timberview, 25-27, 25-21, 25-18, 25-22, Friday night.

Centennial hosts Crowley Friday night in the final game of the first half of district play. Mansfield Legacy plays at Centennial Tuesday.
