Lady Spartans finish second at Wolves Relays
In final preparation for today’s District 9-5A track and field championships, Centennial’s competed at the Wolves Relays at Mansfield Timberview.
The Lady Spartans took second place with 68 points. Mansfield Legacy finished first with 72 points and Hebron was third with 67.5 points.
The Spartans finished third with 42 points. Lancaster was first with 132.65 points and Cedar Hill placed third (63.4 points).
In girls action, Kertisa Amos won the high jump clearing five feet, two inches. Samantha Ufkes cleared five feet to finish third and Savoria Anderson was fourth after clearing 4-10. Victoria Brown finished fifth in the 300 hurdles in a time of 49.62 seconds.
In the 800 relay, the team of Anderson, Amos, Toni Howard and Ne’Khariya Rogers took first in a time of 1:45.89. The team of Anderson, Brown, Howard, and Amos won the 1,600 relay in a time of 4:07.92. In the 3,200 relay, the team of Madylin Herrera, Lauren Foster, Haley Davis and Laura Hoagland finished fifth in a time of 11:29.18. The team of Jaelyn Tucker, Brown, Hilary Garlington and Rogers placed sixth in a time of 50.89 in the 400 relay.
In boys competition, Corey Price placed fourth in the 300 hurdles in a time of 42.40.
In the 800 relay, Wellington Bridges, Logan Maddux, Myron Easley and Stevie Gomez finished second in a time of 3:32.44. The Ryan Valdez, Caleb Conrad, Colin Conrad and Logan McIntosh placed second in the 3,200 relay in a time of 8:47.24. In the 400 relay, the team of Jaylon Jackson, Easley, Price and Gomez finished sixth in a time of 43.76.
