Lady Spartans lack consistency

With four non-district matches remaining before the start of District 5-5A play, Centennial’s volleyball team is still seeking consistent play.

“Our play is still inconsistent,” Centennial coach Julie Williams said. “We have moments where we look good and then we still have moments where we struggle a bit. It’s still that little bit of inconsistency.”

The Lady Spartans posted a record of 1-3 against varsity competition over the weekend at Plano Sports Authority Lone Star Circle of Champions.

Centennial also defeated three Plano ISD junior varsity teams which aren’t counted on the team’s record.

In pool play on Friday, the Lady Spartans lost to Corsicana, 25-20, 25-19, and Lake Highlands, 25-11, 30-29.

In Challengers Pool Play, Centennial defeated, Frisco Lone Star, 25-14, 26-24, and fell to Richardson, 25-22, 25-22.

Lady Spartans were scheduled to play at White Settlement Brewer but the match did not take place.

Centennial hosts Midlothian Heritage Friday and hosts Fort Worth Southwest Christian Tuesday.

The Lady Spartans begin district play Sept. 13 at Burleson.
