Lady Spartans run-rule Cleburne
Centennial continued its run through District 8-5A softball play Friday night by run-ruling Cleburne, 18-2, on the road.
The Lady Spartans (24-3, 13-0) have won 21 consecutive games. Centennial was slated to host Joshua for senior night Wednesday weather permitting.
Hayley Murrell and Crystal Peebles combined on the win. Murrell allowed two hits and two runs (none earned) in four innings. The freshman fanned four and walked two. Peebles struck out two in the one inning.
The Lady Spartans collected six doubles, three triples and home run.
Haley Kimblering went 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles and six RBI. Eva Scott and Bailey White each had three RBI. Scott was 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run. White went 3-for-4 with a double. Gracie Morton tripled twice and Marley Eller drove in two runs.
Centennial is ranked No. 12 in the Class 5A in the most recent Texas Girls Coaches Association poll.
Region I is loaded according to the poll with five teams ranked higher than the Lady Spartans.
